It’s very easy to make changes to your Brand Activator search terms but the changes must be made in Google Ads and Adthena.
- Check new terms meet Brand Activator requirements.
- In Google Ads, make the changes in the Brand Activator campaign (this is how we know the cost to calculate savings).
- In Adthena, go to Search Terms > Brand Activator > Savings > Settings > add or remove search term (by doing this we start indexing or stop indexing terms).
The Google Ads script updates automatically and changes will be reflected 72 hours later.
Adding terms
- If you only add the term to Brand Activator Settings, Adthena won’t be able to calculate costs.
- If you only add the term to Google Ads BA campaign, Adthena won't index the term.
Removing terms
- If you only remove the term from Brand Activator Settings, Adthena will stop indexing the term. However, if the term is presently in the negative keyword list, it will remain there, potentially resulting in lost conversions.
- If you only remove the term from Google Ads BA campaign, Adthena will continue indexing the term but Brand Activator will stop working
Important! Do not change status in Google Ads campaign, as doing so will prevent us from accurately calculating savings.
