It’s very easy to make changes to your Brand Activator search terms but the changes must be made in Google Ads and Adthena.
- Check new terms meet Brand Activator requirements.
- In Google Ads, update the Brand Activator campaign (this allows us to track costs for savings calculations).
- In Google Ads, ensure the correct campaign is applied to the negative keyword list.
- In Adthena, navigate to Brand Activator > Settings > Search terms and add or remove the search term. This starts or stops indexing the term.
The Google Ads script updates automatically.
Adding terms
- If you only add the term to Brand Activator Settings, Adthena won’t be able to calculate costs.
- If you only add the term to Google Ads BA campaign, Adthena won't index the term.
Removing terms
- If you remove a term from Brand Activator Settings, Adthena will stop indexing it.
- The script will also remove all negative keywords related to the term during its next run.
- No manual removal is needed unless the script is paused.
- If you only remove the term from the Google Ads BA campaign, Adthena will continue indexing it, but Brand Activator will stop functioning.
Important
- Do not change the status of a search term in the Google Ads campaign, as this will prevent us from accurately calculating savings.
- If the Google Ads script is paused or not running, you may need to manually remove the term from the negative keyword list in Google Ads.
Following these steps ensures your Brand Activator setup remains accurate and effective.
