What data do the Google Ads scripts modify in my Google Ads account?
In Brand Activator, the Google Ads scripts in your account manage campaign-level negative keyword lists. When Adthena detects a term as a Lone Ranger, the scripts add it to the negative keyword list, which pauses your bidding on it and prevents unnecessary ad spend. When competitors start bidding on the term again, the scripts remove it, which reactivates bidding. The change is made to the negative keyword list, not to the keywords themselves.
How does MCC linking relate to Brand Activator making changes to my account?
These are two separate things.
MCC linking is how Adthena connects to your account and retrieves your data. Adthena's application is read-only by implementation: it only performs reporting and retrieval, and does not modify campaigns, ads, keywords, bids or budgets.
Brand Activator is separate. It makes only the specific negative keyword changes you have explicitly configured and authorized, as described above. You can review account activity at any time under Campaigns > Change History.
Do the Google Ads scripts give Adthena increased access to my account data?
No. The scripts do not grant Adthena any additional access or privileges. The script is created and owned by you and operates within Google's security framework. Adthena provides the script logic, but all execution, permissions, and data access remain under your control.
