Pause or restart Brand Activator

Brand Activator can be temporarily paused and restarted at anytime, but it is important to follow these instructions to ensure smooth operation.

Pause feature

Ideally these steps should be completed on the same day to ensure Brand Activator is completely paused.

1. Remove BA terms in Adthena.
2. Disable BA script in your Google Ads account.
3. Remove BA keywords from the negative list in your Google Ads account.

Restart feature

If changes have been made to the keywords or campaigns, you will need to re-qualify your account, as explained in Brand Activator requirements. Following successful qualification: 

1. Add BA terms back into Adthena.
2. Re-enable BA script in your Google Ads account.

Important!

Adding terms

• If you only add the term to Brand Activator Settings, Adthena won’t be able to calculate costs.
• If you only add the term to Google Ads BA campaign, Adthena won't index the term.

Removing terms

• If you only remove the term from Brand Activator Settings, Adthena will stop indexing the term. However, if the term is presently in the negative keyword list, it will remain there, potentially resulting in lost conversions.
• If you only remove the term from Google Ads BA campaign, Adthena will continue indexing the term but Brand Activator will stop working
