Filtering
Data is updated daily and reflects the most recent 30 days.
Use the engine filter at the top to view data for ChatGPT, Perplexity, AI Mode, or all together in a single unified view based on your subscription. The Prompt Groups and Prompts dropdown menus allow you to filter the data based on your selected criteria, and all charts update dynamically when you apply these filters. The only exception is the domain performance analysis chart, which does not change when filtering by Prompt Group or Prompt.
Domains most frequently cited in AI search results
This chart shows the proportion of unique domain citations found across all AI responses, comparing the top domains with the overall total.
It highlights which domains appear most frequently in AI search results and how their visibility shifts over time. The circular view illustrates the share attributed to the most commonly cited domains, while the line chart shows how their citations vary throughout the selected period.
Together, these visuals help you understand overall domain prominence and identify patterns such as consistently visible sources, new entrants, or changes in domain visibility over time.
Note: A domain is only counted once per response even if the domain appears multiple times per response. At this time, the list of competitors included in the 'Others' category is not viewable in the interface, but this functionality is planned for a future update.
Prompt Groups Health Check
Prompt Group Health Check gives you a structured, at-a-glance view of how your brand performs across groups of related prompts, ranked by severity, so you can focus on what matters most first. It works across three levels of detail, from a top-level overview down to individual prompt diagnostics.
Note: The Health Check reflects the last 7 days of data, with insights generated by comparing performance against the previous 7-day period. Groups are sorted by severity, so the most urgent areas always appear first.
Level 1 - Group Health Overview
The entry point is the Prompt Groups Health Check, which lists all of your prompt groups sorted by severity. Each group displays:
- Prompt count - the number of prompts tracked within that group.
- Health bar - a visual breakdown of prompts rated Strong (green), Attention (amber), or At Risk (red).
- Overall status badge - a single RAG status (Red, Amber or Green) summarising the group's overall health.
- Insight - a brief summary of your brand's position within that group, including which competitors are leading and where content gaps exist.
Filter chips at the top let you narrow the view to All groups, or those rated At Risk, Attention, or Strong.
Level 2 - Prompt Group Analysis
Clicking into a group opens a deeper analysis, where the prompts within that group are automatically classified into scenario categories based on your brand's performance. Each scenario card displays:
- Insights - AI-generated analysis specific to your data, describing where your brand is missing, which competitors are winning, and why.
- Actions - specific, recommended next steps tailored to that scenario.
- Download Sources - a link to export the cited source URLs driving competitor visibility, so you can study and act on them.
- Expandable prompt list - click to reveal the individual prompts classified under each scenario.
The scenario categories currently in use are:
| Broader scenario | What it covers | Example status |
| Content & Coverage Gaps | Brand is invisible or barely present. Competitors dominate. | 4 Prompts at Risk |
| Authority & Visibility | Brand is mentioned but lacks owned-source authority or attribution. | 3 Prompts at Risk |
| Competitive Positioning | Competitors are recommended; brand is listed but not preferred. | 1 Prompt needs Attention |
| Performance & Execution | Brand is performing well. Protect and maintain. | 3 Prompts Strong |
Note: Scenario classifications update three times per week, so prompts can move between categories as LLM responses change. A prompt classified as a Content Gap today may shift to Strong within days if your brand begins appearing in responses.
Level 3 - Prompt-level detail
Expanding a scenario category reveals the individual prompts in a table with the following columns:
- Prompts - the exact search query text.
- Engines - which AI search engines (ChatGPT, Perplexity, or both) returned results for that prompt.
- Brand Mentioned - Yes/No, indicating whether your brand appears in the LLM response.
- Other Brands Mentioned - a count of competing brands cited, with a hover view to see the full list.
- Top Cited Sources - a count of source URLs cited, with a hover view to see the specific links.
This is where analysis becomes actionable. You can identify exactly which prompts your brand is invisible in, see which competitors are winning, and download the source URLs those competitors are earning citations from.
Each prompt is automatically classified into one of the following scenarios based on your brand's mention rate, source citations, and competitive signals:
| Scenario | Broader category | RAG health status | Key data signals | Action summary |
| Content gap | Content & Coverage Gaps | 🔴 At Risk | Mentions 0%, Sources 0%, competitors present | Your brand is invisible. Competitors cited. Create content targeting these prompts. Study competitor sources. |
| Content gap (greenfield) | Content & Coverage Gaps | 🟠 Attention | Mentions 0%, Sources 0%, no competitors either | First-mover opportunity. Create authoritative content to establish presence. |
| Source gap | Content & Coverage Gaps | 🔴 At Risk | Mentions 0%, Sources > 0% | Domain cited, but your brand is never named. Entity recognition is broken. Audit structured data and entity markup. |
| Brand attribution | Authority & Visibility | 🟠 Attention | Mentions > 0%, own domain source share ≈ 0% | Brand mentioned, but all citations go to third parties. Shift citations to owned content. |
| Competitive threat | Competitive Positioning | 🔴 At Risk | Mentions > 0% declining, competitor rising | Competitor is gaining while your brand is declining. Investigate and counter. |
How broad the sources are by Prompt Group
This shows the number of unique domains cited for each prompt within the group. Higher values reflect a broader range of sources and increased competition for visibility.
The total number of included Prompt Groups is displayed at the top of the chart. Selecting a group reveals a detailed view of the specific Prompts it contains.
How early domains are cited in AI responses
This highlights the average citation position of each domain across prompts or groups, showing how prominently a brand appears when it is cited.
To calculate the average position, Adthena collects every position where the domain appears across all AI responses.
- If a domain appears multiple times within a single response (e.g. position 2 and position 5), we include both of those positions.
- We then add up all of those position values and then divide by the total number of appearances (i.e. every citation counted).
This way, Average Position reflects the true overall placement of the domain, giving weight to each time it is cited, even if multiple times within the same response.
Use the toggles to switch between a trend chart and a table.
Note: Lower values indicate more prominence.
How each domain performs across AI responses
This table is the deep-dive view. It combines appearance frequency and ranking quality into a composite performance score, while also letting you compare positions across links vs citations.
It’s where you go to understand why a competitor is performing strongly in the Brand Landscape dashboard.
- Performance Score: Your overall performance score (0–100) measures your domain's visibility and ranking across LLM responses. Calculated as: 60% visibility (how often your domain appears) and 40% ranking quality (how high it appears when present).
- Citations Frequency: Share of AI responses where the domain is referenced at least once. A higher percentage reflects greater consistency of appearance and stronger visibility in AI-generated results.
- Average Position: The average citation position of each domain.
- Avg Position in each section-citation: The average ranking position where your domain is referenced as a source within LLM-generated responses.
- Avg Position in each section-link: The average ranking position where your domain appears as a clickable link within LLM-generated responses.
The total number of domains included is referenced at the top of the chart.
How deep the referencing is by Prompt Group
This provides domain-level metrics that enable you to compare visibility and placement across competitors, and offers insight into the diversity of sources LLMs draw from for each intent or topic.
Multiple mentions of the same domain in one response are only counted once.
Export Data
By clicking the Export Data button, you can download PNG, JPG, SVG or CSV versions of each chart. For the How each domain performs across AI responses chart, only CSV is available.
Prompt Management
