Navigate to Search Term Management
To access Search Term Management, click the Settings (⚙️) icon located in the bottom-left corner of your Adthena account, then under Data Management → Google data, select Search Terms from the menu.
The page opens showing every search term tracked for your account, based on the most recent 30 days of data ending yesterday — there's no date picker.
The summary cards
Five cards at the top of the page summarise your account's search terms as a whole. These figures don't change with the table's filters or its 30-day window:
- Total search terms – every term tracked in this account
- Search terms in a group – terms you've added to one of your own custom search term groups
- Priority terms – terms in the built-in Priority set
- Hourly terms – terms in the built-in Hourly set
- Not in a group – terms not in any custom group
Note: Being in a built-in set like Priority or Hourly doesn't count as being "in a group" for these totals.
Click a card to filter the table to just those terms. Click it again, or click Total search terms, to remove the filter.
The search terms table
| Column | What it shows |
|---|---|
| Search Term | The word or phrase someone types into Google that's tracked for your account |
| Top Competitor | The competitor that held the best (closest to top of page) average position on this term over the last 30 days. Shown as a dash if no competitor appeared |
| Groups | How many of your own search term groups this term belongs to. Hover the number to see which groups |
| Competitors | How many different competitor domains had ads or listings appear for this term over the last 30 days. Always counts every competitor seen on the term, regardless of any competitor filter applied to the table |
| Est. Clicks | A modelled estimate of total clicks across every competitor on this term over the last 30 days. Shown rounded, with a ~ prefix (for example, ~1.2K) |
| Avg. Position | The Top Competitor's average position on the page over the last 30 days, weighted so days it appeared more often count for more. 1 is the very top |
| Ignored | Whether the term is in your account's built-in Ignored Search Terms group |
Click any of the six column headers with a sort arrow to sort by that column, and click again to reverse the direction. The page opens sorted by Est. Clicks, highest first.
You can display 10, 25, 50, or 100 rows per page (starting at 25). Changing a filter or the sort returns you to page 1.
Filtering the table
Use the search box to filter the table to terms containing specific text (not case-sensitive).
You can also filter using the dropdown pickers above the table:
- Device – narrow to All devices, Desktop, or Mobile
- Ad types – choose which result types to count: Text ads, Shopping ads, or Organic (Text ads is selected by default; Shopping ads only appears for accounts that track shopping data)
- Search term groups, Competitors, Competitor groups – each offers Include/Exclude options, so you can build the exact view you need
Click Clear all to reset every filter back to default.
Note: The Whole market checkbox is ticked by default, so the table shows every term seen in your market's data — this is how you spot terms you're not tracking yet. Untick it to narrow the list to only the terms on your account's own tracked list.
Ignoring a term
The Ignored toggle on each row controls whether that term sits in your account's built-in Ignored Search Terms group. Switching it on adds the term to that group and excludes it from other views that skip ignored terms; switching it off removes it.
This change applies across your whole account and is fully reversible. The toggle pauses briefly while the change saves, then the table refreshes and confirms it worked (or asks you to try again).
Exporting the table
Click Export CSV to download every matching row, not just the current page, as search-terms.csv. The file keeps your current sort order, search text, and any summary card selection.
Note: Your device, ad type, group, competitor, and whole-market filter choices do not carry over into the exported file.
