Exclusions allows you to ignore Competitors, Search Terms and Search Term Opportunities that Adthena determined as important to your business, but you feel are not. Note that it can take a few days for changes to either of the above groups to be reflected in the app.
Ignored Competitors
If the system has found a competitor where you have overlapping search terms, but you feel they are not really a competitor, you can add them to the Ignored Competitors. Once a competitor is placed in the Ignored Competitors group, it won't appear at all, not even historically.
Considerations:
- The Ignored Competitor filter will only remove any terms that the competitor has appeared on alone. It will also hide the excluded competitor from the Search Term Detail data and averages e.g. if you see 3 competitors appearing on a search term, by excluding one of the competitors, the term will still be shown in the results, but the term will only show as having 2 competitors.
- If there are a number of competitors from a particular industry in this category then it might be better to ignore a particular search term, which should be enough to prevent those ‘incorrect’ competitors from being brought into your account.
All Competitors list all available competitors in your account, whilst Ignored Competitors list those competitors already included in your group.

If I exclude a competitor does that exclude all search terms that they have appeared on?
Ignored Search Terms
Adding terms you do not care about to Ignored Search Terms helps Adthena learn faster. If you add a search term to Ignored, Adthena will no longer search for it and therefore the term will no longer appear in your reports.

FAQs
I recently ignored a competitor but can still see them in the date range past 30 days. Why?
When displaying data beyond the last 30 days, we only use the relevant competitors at the time of our data rebuild. Once the next weekly or monthly data rebuild has been completed, the competitor changes made will be reflected in the application.
Weekly data is rebuilt every Sunday and will be available in the application on the following Monday. Monthly data is rebuilt on the first of every month and will be available in the application on the 2nd of the month.
