Exclusions allows you to ignore Competitors, Search Terms and Search Term Opportunities that Adthena determined as important to your business, but you feel are not.
Ignored Competitors
If the system has found a competitor where you have overlapping search terms, but you feel they are not really a competitor, you can add them to the Ignored Competitors. Once a competitor is placed in the Ignored Competitors group, it won't appear at all, not even historically.
If there are a number of competitors from a particular industry in this category then it might be better to ignore a particular search term, which should be enough to prevent those ‘incorrect’ competitors from being seen as competitors.
Ignore a single or multiple competitors
- Select All Competitors
- Filter by the competitor in the search box
- Click on Add or filter and Add All
Remove a single or multiple competitors
- Select Group Competitors Only
- Filter by the competitor in the search box
- Click on Add or filter and Add All
- Or add in bulk via a CSV upload and select Add all
Add or Remove competitors from the group in bulk
This can be achieved by via a CSV upload and select Add all or Remove all. To use this feature be sure to use the correct file formatting, as described in the tooltip beside the upload icon.
Note: It can take a few days for changes to either of the above groups to be reflected in the app.
Ignored Search Terms
Adding terms you do not care about to Ignored Search Terms helps Adthena learn faster. If you add a search term to Ignored, Adthena will no longer search for it and therefore the term will no longer appear in your reports.
To change the status of a Search Term, follow these steps:
- Navigate to Search Terms on the left hand side panel and click on Search Term Detail
- Click on a search term you wish to edit
- Click X to Ignore search term
It is also possible to make these changes in your Search Term Groups:
- Go to Settings > Group Management > Search Term Groups
- Select a group and click Edit
- Click on a search term you wish to edit
- Click X to Ignore search term
Rejected Opportunities
If you add a search term to Rejected Opportunities, Adthena will no longer suggest it in Search Term Opportunities.
